One of the finest unpublicized folk artists I’ve heard in a really long time
— Chris Green, Tracer Magazine

Daniel Ryan is a solo-acoustic guitarist and singer who blends folk, blues, early jazz and country to create a unique connection with his audience. He has immersed himself in the soul-stirring genres of American roots music to shape his own musical identity. With timeless melodies and an authentic spirit, Daniel Ryan touches the hearts of all who listen.

Now at 40 years old, Daniel has achieved a new level of artistry owed in part to the maturity that only comes from nearly two decades as a performing musician. His vocals are richer and his acoustic guitar work displays a deftness that didn’t exist when Tracer Magazine praised him upon the release of 2008’s “Maybe Next Time…”

Ryan’s repertoire now, as well as his recent studio work, leans as heavily upon his own material as his interpretations of the work of others. While his affinity for traditional folk material and the songs of the 1920’s and 30’s is evident, Ryan feels equally at home singing contemporary songs in his own unique way.

In addition to writing, recording and performing, Daniel also teaches guitar lessons in Ohio where he lives with his wife and 3 daughters.  Daniel Ryan is one half of the acoustic duo Ryan + Rose, bringing an appreciation for the music of the past to new audiences.
